Since 2005, SIM chapters have been engaged in local community "give back" programs to encourage students from elementary school through early adulthood to pursue degrees and careers in Information Technology. SIM's Outreach Program, through the extraordinary efforts of our chapters, has mobilized hundreds of volunteers and donated over $1.6 million in 2017 towards scholarships and funding of local STEM initiatives. In 2017, the STEM Outreach awards were created to recognize the outstanding efforts of both individuals, chapters and non-profits.

SIM Foundation Gives Back!
Following the great success of the 2021 SIM Foundation Giveback Week, the SIM Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the following donations to our incredible partners.
FIRST and NPower are SIM Foundation Strategic Alliance Partners and each received a grant in the amount of $7,500 from the SIM Foundation. Grants were also provided on behalf of three SIM Chapters, NY Metro, St. Louis, and Atlanta, to the charities of their choice for their incredible efforts of fundraising and volunteer time during Giveback Week 2021. The SIM Foundation will support NPower New York with $5,000 on behalf of the NY Metro Chapter and $2,500 will be allocated to FIRST & NPower thanks to the St. Louis Chapter. $2500 was sent to the Esophageal Cancer Action Network on behalf of SIM Atlanta and in memory of Dan Webber, a treasured SIM Atlanta Board Member.
Due to the growing support of the SIM Foundation, $20,000 in matching grants has been allocated to support Chapter Outreach fundraising efforts in 2022! Thank you to all of our chapters and members for their support of the SIM Foundation Giveback Week. Stay tuned for more information about the 2022 Giveback Week!
