Save the Date for SIM Foundation National Giveback Week!

November 2- 8, 2021

This year’s 2nd Annual SIM Foundation National Giveback Week is scheduled for 11/2/2021 – 11/8/2021. This follows last year's successful launch with 15 chapters participating, over $250,000 raised and mobilization of over 1000 volunteers and participants.

To help with our planning, we wanted to gather information from the chapters regarding their plans for this year.  We ask that you let us know the following:
  • if your chapter plans to participate
  • what type of event you will be holding
  • a guesstimate of how many participants you are expecting (this is for this year’s T-Shirt order)
Please send your responses to Nanci at nschimizzi@simnet.org or Cindy at cmckenzie@simnet.org. Also, if you have questions about the event, please reach out to us. Thank you all in advance for your help.
More info on the program is below for those who may want more information:
To recap the program, chapters can choose a giving activity that will resonate with the chapter's membership.  This could include fundraising, volunteering for a local non-profit, mentoring/resume review for a local college, gathering donations (i.e tech-related), etc.  We are hoping all chapters will participate and encourage chapters to expand participation to RLF current and past participants and to the staff of members to increase reach.
Two $5000 Awards will be given out at the SIM VIP Reception on Friday November 14th, these funds can be used by the chapter to donate to the charity of their choice. Awards are for
  • Impact:  Chapter with the most impact – measured by % of chapter volunteering and the number of participants
  • Funds Raised:  Chapter with the most funds raised
SIM Foundation will again be providing National Give Back Day T-shirts for the event and SIM National will provide social media coverage and other marketing materials for your chapters.
This is a chance for all SIM Chapters to come together collectively and should be a really fun and impactful event!

About Us

Since 2005, SIM chapters have been engaged in local community "give back" programs to encourage students from elementary school through early adulthood to pursue degrees and careers in Information Technology.  SIM's Outreach Program, through the extraordinary efforts of our chapters, has mobilized hundreds of volunteers and donated over $1.6 million in 2017 towards scholarships and funding of local STEM initiatives.  In 2017, the STEM Outreach awards were created to recognize the outstanding efforts of both individuals, chapters and non-profits.
